Esopou 9, Athens, Greece
The restaurant "Oineas",established in 1999, embodies the tradition and the air of the historical city of Athens. Placed at the heart of Psyrri, Oineas aims to maintain the memories with good old local recipes.
Great food of excellent quality and the freshest ingredientsconsisting of traditional greek recipes exquisitely prepared in a modern and fresh way with a touch of gourmet tones. World wide known “mezedes” like tzatziki and freshly baked meat balls, cheese pies and calamari to open the appetite for the delicious main dishes. Hand made desserts, daily prepared by Christina’s sweet mama, like the famous "ravani", the traditional Greek cake soaked in holy syrup, served with kaimaki ice cream, that turns your dinner into an experience.
Our restaurant has been named after "Oineas", which is the name of an ancient Greek king, whose mentor was Dionysus, god of the grape harvest and wine. Our love for good wine, fills your cups abundantly, since we have our own homemade House Wine.
Enjoy the antiques that decorate the internal area, pieces that Angelos, a fellow local has been collecting for over 40 years. Old advertisements, memorabilia, old Athens of the ‘50’s, ‘60’s, ‘70’s unfolds beyond your eyes.
Oineas, a family business, our home, the ornament and the result of chronic work, and dedication will be happy to welcome you!
